Recently I have been having some real trouble with my back, brought on by the manliest of activities, playing the piano. I’ve managed to really cause some damage between the shoulder blades so I decided to go see someone about it.

Anderson Cooper Saves Haitian Kid

I already love the hell out of CNN’s “Silver Fox” Andy Coop, but while my news-addicted self was making the rounds to all my favorite news sites today, I ran across this and it made me like him even more. That’s assuming, of course, that it’s not a publicity stunt of some kind (I truly don’t think it is). No doubt being a reporter is risky business, especially in circumstances like what’s going on in Haiti (and not to mention a couple dozen other countries) right now, and most of the time reporters can’t do much aside from bear witness to the tragedy. Stephen Colbert was asked to be the Ombudsman for the 2010 Vancouver Olympic Games. The political comedian responded, “I have no idea what an ombudsman is, but as long as it requires no effort from me, I proudly accept.” Colbert also took a ride with USA’s bobsled team (#1 in the world) last month, in an effort to promote 2010 Olympic speed skating team.
