A couple weeks ago I asked the question if the time is now for live streaming concerts, and according to the San Fransisco Chronicle, it is.  The popular music company Billboard has just released Billboard Live, which will be streaming some upcoming concerts for you in HD.  Get this, while watching the live concerts, you’ll be able to instantly switch to any one of five camera angles that Billboard Live offers, meaning you can focus on just the drummer or lead singer if you want.  The confirmed concerts being covered by Billboard Live include acts from:  Daughtry, Usher, Alicia Keys, and David Archuleta.

If you don’t think you’ll be in front of the computer for any of the concerts that Billboard Live is offering, that’s not a problem.  Like everything else, there’s an iPhone app for Billboard Live so you can catch a glimpse of live concerts while on the road or even sitting in traffic (presuming it’ll still be a couple months until cell phones are banned from cars).  Some people questioned the potential success of streaming live concerts because of a concern about the quality.  Billboard Live seems to have addressed this issue and have delivered something that appears to be unparalleled in the world of live concerts; free HD quality from multiple angles.  Aside from offering more concerts, you can’t really wish for much more.

Seeing that the service is offered from such a giant in the music industry, we have to expect that Billboard is going to be collaborating with artists on a much more intimate level than many other companies would be able to do.  Hopefully creating a better experience for the viewers.
