Adam Lambert was voted one of People’s Sexiest Men Alive just prior to the American Music Awards. Lambert may be a little too sexy for some Americans, with his wild unrehearsed performance at the AMA’s.  Perhaps this title gave him the ego boost that lead to his overtly sexual performance that shocked unsuspecting audiences.

Admittedly, he tells People that he doesn’t view himself as “sexy” and when asked if the title would get him more dates he said he doesn’t have a social life right now.  Being in the full swing of post American Idol stardom, Lambert took a significant risk with his racy performance that made Good Morning America cancel his appearance. 

Hearing some of the valuable opinions of my friends on the topic of Lambert, some think his stunt at the AMA’s may have put his career in jeopardy.  A much more pragmatic approach tells me that shock rock is great if you only want your fifteen minutes of fame, but if looking for a life long career in today’s competitive music industry, this stunt may have cost him more than a few displeased prudish audience members.

For now, Lambert’s good looks are only propelling his star-dome, time will tell if his antics affect his longevity.
