That Tina Turner is old enough to be my grandmother doesn’t change the fact that she is the sexiest septuagenarian on the planet.

Does this woman age? She has been in the entertainment industry for more than 50 years and has sold more concert tickets, price-gouged nonetheless, than any other performer in music history. Plus she is still performing live on her Tina!: 50th Anniversary Tour in promotion of her latest album, Tina!: Her Greatest Hits.

Known for her charisma on stage and a set of legs that just won’t quit, Tina’s career was as drama-filled as her tumultuous personal life with former husband and performing partner, the late Ike Turner. Over the course of her illustrious career, Tina(born Anna Mae Bullock in Nutbush, Tennessee, 1939) has won eight Grammys, seven Billboard Awards plus a host of lifetime achievement trophies from the likes of Rolling Stone and has been immortalized in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

While I would love to make some derogatory comments about how ancient she is and my suspicion that she might be a robot put in place by the American Government to boost the economy through her overpriced concert tickets, I just can’t bring myself to mock The Queen of Rock and Roll. With classic hits like Private Dancer and What’s Love Got to do With It?, it’s hard not to show a little respect to a lady who was, and is, Simply the Best.
